Player notes
Col is a Legendary Seeker tagged with Alacrity, Papal States, Drifter. In practical terms they cover flank assassination and Act Again kill loops. Assassin queen of side/back kills: Killer Instinct Act Again, Omen of Death stacking, and Void Stab crit loops. Still a premier ST option years after launch.
Only take fights you can finish. Preview damage without crit—then still account for crit overkill. Path to the rear arc, spend Wipe Out, chain Act Again into the next kill. Rank 7 Omen of Death (NRG on any kill + Feverish Beast stacks) is when she stops being 'good' and becomes oppressive. Mask for invis approaches when the backline is gated.
In the role triangle, lean on free damage into Breakers and respect Defenders. Stars and gear still matter more than matchup alone on hard maps.
Star plan on this page (“3★ → 5★ (Act Again frequency). Rank 7 passive is non-negotiable long-term”) is a budgeting hint: finish the first power spike that stabilizes clears, then reassess against your enabler and main carry before dumping every shard here.

Col deep guide
Overview
Col is the textbook Seeker: side/back kills, Act Again, invis tools, and Assisting Cover ignore. New accounts that land him should build him hard—he teaches SoC combat fundamentals.
Every wasted swing that fails to kill costs an entire extra turn. Play greedy only when the math is locked.
Openers
- Identify the killable target (prefer Breakers for matchup free damage).
- Approach from side/back so Omen of Death / Act Again conditions fire.
- Wipe Out as the finisher when the target is in kill range.
- Use invis / Eerie Footwork to exit or re-engage safely.
Mid-fight
He is a boss assassin and elite deleter, not a pure wave clearer. Feed him SP Inanna Call of Freedom when two skills will secure a kill. Void Stab and Maverick's Cloak style gear reinforce crit loops.
Investment
High for early accounts. Stars raise kill reliability more than raw fluff stats. Keep him funded until a true SSS assassin power-creeps him on your roster.
Sample teams
Pitfalls
- Swinging into full HP tanks and missing Act Again.
- Front-attacking Defenders for free damage loss.
- No support—single actions feel underwhelming.
When to skip
Almost never skip if he is your first good Seeker. Bench only when a strictly better limited assassin is fully built.
From the editor's clears
Col taught me SoC: if the target is not dead, the turn was probably wrong. Side/back kills are not optional flavor text.

How to use
Only take fights you can finish. Preview damage without crit—then still account for crit overkill. Path to the rear arc, spend Wipe Out, chain Act Again into the next kill. Rank 7 Omen of Death (NRG on any kill + Feverish Beast stacks) is when she stops being 'good' and becomes oppressive. Mask for invis approaches when the backline is gated.
Star priority: 3★ → 5★ (Act Again frequency). Rank 7 passive is non-negotiable long-term
Gear deep dive
- Weapon — Void Stab: Assassin-leaning dagger that rewards multi-kill and Act Again loops. Prefer it when multi-kill Seekers and Act Again loops (e.g. Col-style kits).
- Trinket — Maverick's Cloak: Assassin trinket for dodge/crit roamers. Best when carries who fight away from the main blob.
- Tarot — Verdict of Justice: Aggressive tarot for assassins and finishers. Take it for finishers and crit-stacking carries.

Team plan
Col wants an Act Again enabler and a Defender who holds aggro while they flank. Prioritize backline kills so kill-passives and multi-action loops fire.
- Open with Omen of Death when the board allows a clean cast.
- Keep reaction (Eerie Footwork) online—do not strip it for vanity actives mid-fight.
- Basic attack (Hidden Thorn) is for reposition turns or when NRG is dry.
- Count kill thresholds before committing—wasted openers cost the Act Again or NRG window.
Skill table
Priority stars are SoC Wiki recommendations for general PvE. NRG/CD values are approximate guide bands—confirm in-game for patches.
| Skill | Type | NRG | CD | Priority | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Omen of Death | Passive | — | — | ★★★★★ | Rank 7 spike — NRG on kills + Feverish Beast stacks Restores NRG when any unit dies and stacks crit/lifesteal style buffs (Feverish Beast). Mandatory passive once unlocked—this is her real kit. |
| Wipe Out | Active | 3 | 0–1 | ★★★★★ | High damage + Ignore Assist; Dodge on kill Primary finisher. Ignore Assist solves her classic weakness into covered carries. Kill → Act Again → next target. |
| Eerie Footwork | Reaction | — | — | ★★★★★ | Best general reaction — Dodge oriented Default reaction for most content. Keeps her alive when a plan slightly fails mid-dive. |
| Hidden Thorn | Basic | 0 | — | ★★★★★ | Basic that ignores Assisting Cover Essential into cover-heavy maps. Prefer over Critical Strike basics whenever Assist Cover is present. |
| Perfect Assassin | Aura | — | — | ★★★★★ | Alacrity leader aura — crit package Slot in Alacrity comps. Crit rate/crit damage alignment is perfect for her trait loop. |
| Mask | Active | 2 | 2–3 | ★★★★★ | Invisibility + crit up for approach turns Situational but game-winning when the path to the backline is blocked by threat. |
| Ambush | Active | 2 | 1 | ★★★★★ | Bonus damage vs unharmed targets Optional opener for full-HP priority targets. Often replaced by Wipe Out in mature builds. |
