Support-tank hybrid: Assisting Cover specialist with cost/CD reduction and HP-scaling heals via Iron Pot Stew / Treasure Chest decision skills.

Last updated: 2026-08-02

Player notes

Cocoa is a Legendary Defender tagged with Iria. In practical terms they cover frontline soak, cover, and zone control. Support-tank hybrid: Assisting Cover specialist with cost/CD reduction and HP-scaling heals via Iron Pot Stew / Treasure Chest decision skills.

Stand adjacent to the carry you refuse to let die. Her healing scales with Max HP, so weapons like Brutal Axe style HP sticks outperform pure ATK sticks. Use Cocoa's Treasure Chest decision kit to pick the right consumable-style skill for the crisis (burst heal vs cleanse vs utility).

In the role triangle, lean on free damage into Seekers and respect Breakers. Stars and gear still matter more than matchup alone on hard maps.

Star plan on this page (“3★+ if main tank-support — HP investment matters more than raw stars sometimes”) is a budgeting hint: finish the first power spike that stabilizes clears, then reassess against your enabler and main carry before dumping every shard here.

Cocoa deep guide

Overview

Cocoa is the friendly early Defender many guides recommend: reliable cover, simple kit, and enough bulk to teach positioning without SSS complexity.

She will not out-damage SP Maitha, but she will keep your Col alive long enough to learn Act Again loops.

Openers

  1. Stand between the enemy and your glass carry.
  2. Use cover skills when multiple enemies can reach the backline.
  3. Do not chase kills—your job is space.
  4. Swap off when SP Maitha or better tanks arrive, but keep her built for content locks.

Mid-fight

Story and early Trials: excellent. Late spiral: she becomes a budget tank—still usable with stars, but SP Maitha/SoC walls take over.

Investment

Medium early, then maintenance only. Cheap gear is fine; stars help but do not dump every shard here forever.

Sample teams

Beginner clear

Cocoa + Inanna + Col core.

Pitfalls

  • Over-investing 5★ while SP Maitha sits unbuilt.
  • Leaving her alone without a healer.

When to skip

Skip heavy investment once a modern Defender is online.

From the editor's clears

Not glamorous, still the tank I recommend to friends on week one. She buys the mistakes new players need to make.

Role and matchups

Cocoa fills frontline soak, cover, and zone control. Defenders cover the board against Seekers but melt if Breakers get free swings. Attack into Seekers for free damage. Avoid feeding Breakers free swings. Full role chart →

Pros

  • Best-in-class Assisting Cover feel
  • Cost & CD reduction for the whole fight plan
  • Healing scales with Max HP — stack bulk
  • Flexible decision skills (bandages, potions, etc.)

How to use

Stand adjacent to the carry you refuse to let die. Her healing scales with Max HP, so weapons like Brutal Axe style HP sticks outperform pure ATK sticks. Use Cocoa's Treasure Chest decision kit to pick the right consumable-style skill for the crisis (burst heal vs cleanse vs utility).

Star priority: 3★+ if main tank-support — HP investment matters more than raw stars sometimes

Gear deep dive

  • Weapon — Guardian Blade: Defender weapon for cover, knockback, and aura tanks. Prefer it when cover tanks and knockback Defenders holding the front line.
  • Trinket — Warden's Sigil: Cover-oriented trinket for protecting carries. Best when assisting Cover and damage-share frontliners.
  • Tarot — The Empress: Support tarot for classic heal/buff kits. Take it for pure heal/buff supports prioritizing ally care.

Open each gear page for alternatives and Best on lists.

Team plan

Park Cocoa on the contested tile or choke, pair with a Watcher battery and at least one damage role that covers their weak matchup. Do not stack pure tanks without a kill threat.

  • Open with Iron Pot Stew when the board allows a clean cast.
  • Keep reaction (Assisting Cover) online—do not strip it for vanity actives mid-fight.
  • Basic attack (Crushing Bash) is for reposition turns or when NRG is dry.
