Last updated: 2026-08-02

Player notes

Triss is a Legendary Breaker tagged with Drifter, SoC. In practical terms they cover anti-tank physical pressure and frontline shred. AoE magic attacker with conditional pursuits and high damage windows when setup is correct.

Set conditions for pursuits before committing big turns.

In the role triangle, lean on free damage into Defenders and respect Seekers. Stars and gear still matter more than matchup alone on hard maps.

Star plan on this page (“See guide”) is a budgeting hint: finish the first power spike that stabilizes clears, then reassess against your enabler and main carry before dumping every shard here.

Triss deep guide

Overview

Triss is a collab mage option: magical pressure with collab-board synergy. She is happiest next to Yennefer/Geralt but can guest-star on any battery shell.

If you are light on Destroyer/magic DPS, she is a justified build. If Taair already solves magic, she is a sidegrade with flair.

Openers

  1. Tag priority elites with setup if available.
  2. AoE when packs clump; single-target when the boss phase starts.
  3. Stay mid-backline—mages hate Seekers.
  4. Enable her when spells will actually land this turn.

Mid-fight

Collab mono is optional. Mixed boards with SP Inanna often outperform forcing four collab names with no tank.

Investment

Medium. Magic weapons and NRG comfort. Stars if she is your best mage.

Sample teams

Collab magic

Triss with Yennefer and a real tank.

Pitfalls

  • All-mage no-frontline disasters.
  • Casting into Watcher matchup free losses without a physical flex.

When to skip

Skip if magic is covered and shards are needed for SP Inanna/SP Maitha.

Is Triss worth building?

Medium. Magic weapons and NRG comfort. Stars if she is your best mage.

Role and matchups

Triss fills anti-tank physical pressure and frontline shred. Breakers punish tanks—open on Defenders, respect Seekers who hunt you back. Attack into Defenders for free damage. Avoid feeding Seekers free swings. Full role chart →

Gear deep dive

  • Weapon — Verdict of Justice: Aggressive tarot for assassins and finishers. Prefer it when finishers and crit-stacking carries.
  • Trinket — Focus Lens: Crit lens for physical carries mid-game. Best when universal crit budget piece — highest build count in the DB.
  • Tarot — Temperance: Balanced mid-game tarot for flexible builds. Take it for flexible mid-game tarot when bis is missing — very high build count.

Team plan

Open Triss into Defender-heavy packs. Bring a Watcher for uptime and a Seeker or Destroyer flex if the map punishes pure physical lines.

  • Open with Firestorm when the board allows a clean cast.
  • Keep reaction (Fearless) online—do not strip it for vanity actives mid-fight.
  • Basic attack (Scorching Attack Magic Barrier The) is for reposition turns or when NRG is dry.
  • Count kill thresholds before committing—wasted openers cost the Act Again or NRG window.
